Oh the joy!
Well, yesterday was awesome, because I did no academic work whatsoever! After class at 10, which flew by despite the fact that i was bleary-eyed and had nothing intelligent to contribute, I decided to go shopping. Now, I'm not usually a shopper, unless it's for shoes, but this was fun. I went to Gap and found a cute shirt on sale for about 10 (pounds, a key I don't have on this american laptop). I also got a taupe/camel/tan/whatever you want to call it turtleneck sweater. I walked around the covered market, which is always fun for me since it's so unlike anything I've ever seen, I read a little at Starbucks, with a vanilla iced chai in a very comfy chair by the upstairs window, then I wandered around a bit more. I read some in Borders as well, went and bought one of those cool pashmina scarves that are all soft and huge and fringy--mine's a very bright red, and I like it. I eventually wandered home, took a nap on the sofa, watched "The Weakest Link" and the Simpsons, and went out to a comedy club with Smeg. We had an awesome time--by some fluke of nature and organization we got moved to the very front, center table. Of course, being there means you *will* be made fun of, and we were. But it was really great--it wasn't embarrassing (well, for me, but Smeg sure got picked on alot more than I did), and I had a great time being a part of the show. It became apparent that I was american after he asked me what I did for a living and I had to answer and couldn't put on an accent, so then about 7 minutes of jokes about the 'war on terror' and GWBush followed, as well as making fun of american tourists and whatnot. Then he started in on us as a couple (it's much easier to just say you are together when they ask), he called me a golddigger because i'm a student and Smeg's in IT--"The dollar's not very strong right now, milk him for all he's worth!". It was hilarious. I don't remember most of the jokes (pity how that is), but it was very good fun.
Today I have to go to lunch in a few, then I think i'm going on a bike ride since it is nice and sunny outside. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to London, but I'm not sure. I really don't have much money after my little shopping day yesterday, so I need to be more frugal.
Update: It is no longer sunny :(. So much for riding my bike. I think I'll study! Yay! Besides, it is *way* colder outside than it looked through the windows. I nearly froze my ass off riding to lunch and walking around aimlessly afterwards looking for the video shop on Clarendon. Reliable sources told me that that store would have "Office space" but they didn't. I hope Blockbuster has it... It's *so* funny.
