A Relaxing Evening
So maybe I didn't get much studying done today. But I did buy a calf-length brown wool coat at a charity shop for L10 (my keyboard doesn't have a pound symbol). It smells funny, so I need to get it cleaned. Funny, it will probably cost as much to get it dry cleaned as the coat cost! Tonight was chinese food night in Hall, and it was okay. It seems that any food, when served in massive quantity, loses its goodness. But it was alright, and afterward I went with some friends to the college bar. Cheap Guiness and a hour to watch the hilarity of costumed freshers doing the bidding of the second-year students. It's called "blinds" I think, and it's basically sanctioned, alcohol-related hazing. A poor guy in an aluminum robot suit was doing laps around the bar and having drinks poured down his throat because his costume restricted his arms. When I left he was swaying and mumbling by the door.
After that I met up with Smeg and his old school mate Sandra, who was a riot even though she wasn't feeling well and had spent the better part of her afternoon dealing with public transport. We ganged up on him and stole his chips (such a thing should never be done, I am told), but the chinese food wasn't that good so I wanted some chips....I was hungry, okay? Stop looking at me like that. We went out to the Rose Revived and had a blast, and now I'm back at the ranch. A good day, overall.
