A bit of a kip

Well folks, I just woke up from a long nap! Not sure how long exactly. Probably around 4 hours. You know how, last entry, I said that I sure was glad that my cough and sore throat were under control? Yeah, umm, I forgot to knock on wood. I woke up this morning feeling terrible. The feeling abated after I ate a very early lunch and I was fine during class and for the early afternoon. Went to Boots and picked up some vitC/Zinc to take on top of the echinacea, plus some cheap cough syrup. One odd thing I've noticed is that actual medication is alot cheaper here, but vitamins/minerals are ridiculously expensive. Kind of reverse from the states, although vitamins can be expensive in america too, and drugs are ALWAYS costly.

I had alot of weird dreams, most of which are slipping away as I am trying to write them. Dreamed I was in scotland, at an amish family's house, with my housemates, and I saw some other cool people I know from Edinburgh and some people off IAM, and one of my friends ran up to hug me and he was incredibly drunk and said "I've had two skeins of beer." Weird, because skeins are what you measure yarn in, but I knew what he meant. I think yards was the word he meant. In my dream it was. And the weird thing was he doesn't really drink, and is really prudish, and would *never* hug anyone. Especially not a girl. I also remember something vaguely about toenails.

I'm starting to feel hungry, which is a good thing. I really don't want this to be a long ordeal! I want to feel better!

In other news, I got back my first marked essay today from my professor, and I made an alpha -?-. I don't really know what that means, so I'm guessing that she was thinking about giving me the higher alpha - but then decided to make it an alpha --. Still, that's the highest grade she ever gives, and she complimented me by saying it was "A *most* promising essay--analytical, judicious, well-organized." I was beaming, but not too much, because I didn't want to appear obsequious to her or cocky to Jennifer, my classmate. Dr. Gillingham went on about how well we were doing, how we grasped the concepts much quicker and on a much deeper level than she expected, and were doing hands-down better than her last GA students. I was really encouraged. She's the kind of professor I like to do quality work for. She liked the essay I presented today, but grilled me on some of the points. I hope I get a good grade on it as well. Only two more essays and a presentation!

I hope we find some sort of celebration to attend tonight, being as it is Bonfire Night.
